Trees

A new friend told me today that it takes trees three years after they’re planted to truly thrive.
 
I love this.
 
I am the tree.
 
I am almost three years in Portland, my new(ish) home.
 
I am sprouting roots and leaves and loves that are new and fresh, true, alive, abundant and about to bear fruit.
 
It’s been a rough and tumble kind of three years. The kind of three years where you come up bruised but smiling. Toothless but happy.
 
These are my three years. Loss, love, grief, and more love. Coming toward me and moving through me.
 
I’m better than alive. I’m thrilled & bearing fruit.
 
Humbled by the immense village it has taken to bring me back to life. Humbled by the love I know and the ones up under me that are why I am.
